The Field

East of the Foal Pen the ground opens up into The Field, the first place in the world you can call your own.

Land you can own

Every zone before this one is shared ground. The Field is different. It is surveyed into plots, and a plot becomes yours the moment you claim it. Walk up to any empty plot and take it on the spot. From then on it carries your name, and nobody else can build there. One rule: one home plot per soul. Choose yours like you mean it.

Four sizes, 39 plots

Plots come in four sizes, and there are only 39 of them in the world. Each size asks a price in gloo and a level you must have reached first:

  • 6x6, 3,000 gloo, level 3. There are 20.
  • 8x8, 7,000 gloo, level 7. There are 10.
  • 10x10, 15,000 gloo, level 12. There are 6.
  • 12x12, 30,000 gloo, level 18. There are 3.

Bigger land costs more gloo, waits on more levels, and past a point the bricks alone stop being enough: a 10x10 stable also wants 4 iron fittings, relics the creatures drop. The 12x12 lots are surveyed but not open yet: raising a stable on one needs something the world does not have yet, the deepest fight and what it drops. They open when that does. Until then you cannot claim one, so no gloo is wasted on ground you cannot build.

The frontier

The Field is not all quiet pasture. Past the frontier line on its far east side the wild pushes back: badger packs, boar, and a wolf den. That is the nearest fight to home, and where a lot of iron fittings come from.

Only the start

A claimed plot is bare ground with your name on it. You make it a home by raising a stable on it. See Build a Stable.
